If the 997.1 hadn't of practically dropped in our laps a few weeks ago, this car would not be up for sale for a long time.

This picture was taken just last weekend at the PCA Escape to the Ozarks at Eureka Springs, AR by our friend and fellow Porsche dude Kelly Shipp...

At 6'4" Rob did not fit! You can only adjust the Recaro Pole Positions so much and that wasn't enough. Sold them to a guy on pelican and bought the GT3 seats....sooooo much more comfy!
And no they were not original RS seats.

Maybe for some people the fun is in the concept, chasing the parts, building the car, not the driving?

My comment wasn't meant to put anybody down, I'm just saying that I don't understand it.

I love the "hunt" as much as the next guy, so that part I understand. I lack the technical skills to work on my car, but I certainly appreciate those who have those skills and enjoy the wrenching as much as the driving. But I don't understand putting months into the hunt, then thousands of dollars and countless man hours into tweaking the car to perfection only to never actually enjoy the product that they've cultivated and produced! Even if we put aside the time commitment, it seems like a financial disaster. Guy pays $30k for a 993 in January, dumps $12k into it before April, sells it in September for $35k. Total miles driven: 1,000. Won't ever make sense to me. To each his own, though!

To the point at hand: Joanne, I wish I had the budget for a second 993!!

I have no problem with the discussions going on within this thread. That being said, we are not going to sell this car at a huge loss. We will keep it before we do that. I just hate to see it end up in a storage unit and only driving once a month or so which is not what our cars were built to do, but if we have to we will.

I buy, fix and sell my cars at a loss every time. I have a business card from a guy in San Diego, it says "buy from me, I lose money on every deal"... Interesting concept but it happens way more often then you think.

My example wasn't intended to reflect your situation specifically, Joanne. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

GLWS!!

I know you were speaking in a generalization, but still wanted to state my position also, after all women always like to get the last word in... <Haha!>

I've been getting some doozie email's and PM's. I have no idea why some men (or shall I say Boy Racers) are so put off by women who love their P-cars. I don't get it at all. And that is all I am going to say about that.

No matter what....
I love this place and my 993 guy pals who 'get' me! Thank you for just being you.

You want to actually make money buying and selling cars?
Then set the way-back machine to 15 years ago or so and buy 356s!

Every 356 that we bought and then eventually sold made us a very nice profit. Of course if we had not sold the 55 Outlaw or the 55 Speedster until now......350K+!!!!!!!
