I did have one once on a 90' 911 and never had a use for it so I took it off, when I did I realize how heavy it was! So the term " rear seat delete" to lots of people means that you take the seats out in exchange for less weight, I guess it is more for having more carrying capacity in the car. So that term is kind of misleading, specially in cars like the RS America that are suppose to be lighter and sportier.,again this is just my thoughts on this subject, so for lots of people this is a very good option to have, so let it be!!.,cheers,

The weight thing on a street car is way overrated. I might have added 5 pounds over what the seats, belts, hardware weighed that I pulled out. The gain was lots of storage and a larger area to put luggage, yard waste, etc.

For what it's worth, the RSD is 7kg or around 15 lbs. lighter then the standard US cab rear seats.
I measured both when I installed mine.

I had bought one off eBay several years ago and had all good intentions to use it but never installed it. Even though it was OEM, the design, quality of the materials and weight seemed to be far from what I would have expected from a Porsche designed part. It felt more like a JC Whitney accessory for a camper/van. I wound up selling it.

Right, thanks Ilko. Also, I believe the Coupe RSD's door assembly width is the same as a Cab BUT the deck is wider with tabs or 'ears' forward that closeout around the front seatbelt retractor covers .. so a coupe RSD can be cut back for a cab but a cab RSD wouldn't work for a coupe without replacing or modifying the upper deck ... am I right? Here's an RSD for a coupe:
