Default FYI...RSD on ebay

There's a RSD on ebay if anyone is interested...no affiliation.

It's interesting because the ad says it came from the seller's America Roadster but I think the America Roadster's RSD had those tall metal 'hoops' mounted at the forward edge to keep objects from flying forward, I wonder if those are included ...

Ilko ... doesn't this RSD look like it's for a coupe? They're wider than the Roadster/Cab units .. right?

This looks from the top like it is for a coupe.
However, caveat emptor! The front looks a little "low" or "short" for a 993/ 964 application - I would disagree with the seller's "Compatibility" list as the RSD for pre-964 will only fit a 993 with extensive modification.

Guys, how can you question the seller? I mean, it's on eBay; it must be correctly and honestly described... right?

Found this picture in my reference pile .. if you compare it to the pictures in the auction, it does look like the eBay listing is a Cab/Roadster RSD, just the hoops have been removed at some point. Also, I see the eBay unit has the auto-door locking feature and wires .. and I think that was only on the RSD in open cars ...

If unmodified, the Ebay RSD is for a cab. Coupe RSDs don't come with the locking door mechanism.

Sonny -

IIRC, the RSD weighs less than the removed Cab rear seats...

I know this RSD and the seller personally. I helped the seller a few years back restore his 1992 America's Roadster. When he bought the Roadster it did not have an RSD. He bought one and installed it. The seller is a dealer here in Louisville, KY. When he sold the Roadster a few months back the buyer requested he put rear seats in the car therefore leaving the RSD for sale. The hoops are missing and IIRC he spray dyed the carpet. I can't remember if the original carpet color was black or another color. It's not a major deal to recover the top. It is out of a his 92 Roadster though not the one original to the car. It's been a few years ago, but I remember just bolting it in the car with no mods. YMMV.
