Default 993 sunroof delete available roof?

I also dont see a sunroof deleted roof option from Porsche.

Looks like custom Fabricate only if someone wanted to delete it?? At least on the US vin. I also noticed the 2 and 4 wheel drive dont decode in the VIN.

Option 650 - Sunroof was standard on all US 964 and 993 cars (except for the RSA). A customer could order a sunroof delete car directly from the factory so there are a few of those around but their number is tiny. You can weld a roof skin from an earlier car and the cost to do it right is in the $5K range.

Ilko is right on...you can also buy the new roof from PAG at ~ $1000 (thats what I paid for it 4 years ago) and then labor in the 3-3500k range. The roof clip comes in a crate the size of a Prius (huge).

Done right you would never tell. I did this to my old car (now jdistefa's RSR project).

You can use any 911/964/993 from at least '69 to '98 roof

I'm using amid '80s SC roof on mine.

or Fenn Lane Motorsport has a nice flanged sunroof replacement panel w/ the correct curvature that a lot of track guys are using

Rare factory delete would be neat. It's more a curiosity for me right now. I dont have my 993 yet but, I'm working on one right now. Cant wait to get back into a Porsche!

Wow that looks so clean Nollie.
Wish there where more of these in the states, so very rare in the 993 unlike the older SC's.

The 993 part is still available from Porsche.

Is the marginal stiffness it affords worth it?

I have my sunroof open almost daily albeit I live in 364 days of sun...

Stiffness not the advantage, losing 40 - 50 pounds from the worst possible place to have that mass as well as headroom clearance for a helmet is the advantage of removal.
