Default Cigarette lighter and a little victory

Anybody have an extra one they'd be willing to part with? I just need the actual lighter, not the whole assembly. The PO misplaced it so I'm on the hunt.

I must admit, it feels so good to be sorting out little details finally on my new-ish 993 ... as opposed to the larger ones. I just installed a dash, windshield, and a Perfect Power strut brace and ALL the squeaks and rattles from up there are gone (along with the cracked dash and badly chipped windshield). With the newly quiet dash, I can completely focus on my exhaust note ... I sense a Fister Stage II in my future. WAHOO!

EDIT: 100 posts. I can't believe it. Look out, Quadcammer!

If you can't find one, try Sunset Porsche - some of the best prices on Porsche parts. Just phone them and talk to the parts desk. I deal with Bob, but they are all good.

Cheers,

Mike

Suncoast wants you to buy the whole unit. I posted same WTB a week or two ago and was informed that Autozone part is interchangeable. Haven't gone in yet but bought a cool OEM flashlight from Suncoast that fits !

Thanks, Mike. I ordered my windshield seals from them. They rock.

Darn. That's what I was hoping to avoid.

Hmm, interesting. I would double check with Sunset though - unfortunately sometimes it depends on the parts guys you talk to.

Yes. Please let me know if you find out differently. I would like one too. It's one of those annoying little things that I would like to fix..along with a door rattle that I'm about to tackle !

A flashlight? Are you saying there's a flashlight that fits in the lighter socket?

Well, I just snagged one in good nick from Parts Heaven for $25. LA Dismantlers has them for $30, FYI, which is still cheaper than a new assembly from Suncoast.

Smokers are a dying breed these days as a carton of smokes cost as much as the lighter. Just put a USB charging socket adapter in the hole - an instant modernization upgrade! By the time you children are your age no one will know what a cigarette liter is anyway!

I'm 44 years old and it never even occurred to me that a torch could charge from that socket - and now I find out that there is even an official Porsche torch for the job.

Heh! Don't worry, I don't smoke. I just want the car to be correct and complete.

I'm of similar mindset-nothing wrong with that.

Who did your windshield replacement? Did you source glass in SD?
