Just wanted to wish all of the 'listers on the east coast good luck with the storm that's headed your way... Everything I've been hearing is making it sound worse than the 'Perfect Storm' back in '91...

Hope you and your families come through it all without a scratch...

Because I live on the water, I'm not allowed to cut down any trees. So my two P-cars are in my tiny garage with old towering trees next door. Tomorrow morning I'm moving them to a friends pasture so nothing can fall on them....probably get stuck trying to leave.

I'm surrounded on three sides by water _before_ any storms. But based on forecasts it doesn't seem like Boston itself will get hit hard. Irene was just... nothing around here (burbs were hit harder). Will probably move the car away from the water just in case - with full moon causing high tides the extra waves can very well flood the parking near our building.
GF is flying from DC tomorrow at 7AM. Should be early enough to not be affected by storm.
However, I'm concerned for people in Southern NJ. It might not be fun if you get hit directly. Take care of yourselves!

i95 was like a ghost town coming home from work. Stopped by Lowes and picked up a generator for the house. The SOB is heavy as hell. They had all the avail generators sitting on dollies lined up near the registers, selling like hotcakes!

I'm in a downtown Baltimore hotel next to Oriole baseball park.
Here on biz.
Surprisingly non-hurricany here, (50 mph winds and moderate rain), but news is full of gloom-n-doom.
And I'm sure it's worse not far from here.

Hopefully no serious issues for our friends.
Flying into BWI on Sunday night i was greeted by lottsa unhappy looking people and a flight arrival / departure board showing 95%+ cancellations.
Not a good thing.
Be safe.

What a difference a day makes!
1) Picture 1 High Tide 11 AM Monday.
2) Picture 2 Mid Tide 8 AM Tuesday.
3) Picture 3 Monday afternoon Basement water level!
Tide was higher than Irene at my house although measured at Sewell's Point Norfolk, VA about three inches lower. Generally coastal Virginia was very lucky.
