While it is nice to think our cars are number one in the worlds greatest car contest it is hard to give credibility to a list that has the Smart car listed above a Lamborghini Miura.

And with Excellence opining the '95 to be the 993 to get, I think I'll fire up a Cuban and open a cold beer!

Definitely a Brit slant.

I'd include the XKE, the Mini, the original Land Rover, and perhaps an Aston Martin or two. Other than those, they haven't done much.

Also, how about Cord and Duesenberg for USA?

They are picking the 50 best cars of the past 50 years so the Cord and the Dusenberg would not qualify i guess

That's what I was going to say... If only I had room for a McLaren F1, I wouldn't mind having the top 3.

My father, a bigger car nut than I am, arrived home in 1958, after trading our 1957 Ford 500 2 door hardtop, with a new Citroen ID 19. Same car as DS 19 or 21 with less fancy stuff. Relative to every thing else on sale at the time it was a different dimension. There has never since been a car so far ahead of its times. As much as I love Porsche, for my next car that I drive too little, I am torn between a Citroen and a 356 of some sort. First I need more garage space.

Errr am i missing something here but the fiat multipla is at 48 so hardly a top choice, my concern is a Ford Focus at 16 FFS aspirational or what, the #1 mass volume selling family car in the UK is at #13, plain vanilla white matt emulsion scores 13, yes us brits are really aspirational or maybe if it the escort Cosworth or even the ST I might buy it, but otherwise, please how can the country that invented top gear and the stig and is the home to international motorsport rate a plain vanilla hatchback at 13!!
