To ignite the HIDS, there is a high VOLTAGE spike, but it is very low CURRENT. Fuses are based on CURRENT draw.

Power in watts is Current in AMPS times Voltage in Volts.

Well said Kika. Most kits have low current draw. DDM kits are low draw at 5.x A at start and steady state at 3.x A. Mine definitely was a faulty unit after less than 2 years of very little use. Glad the fuse did its job to protect the wiring.
