Hmm, interesting, but for a grand I guess I can live with using the top of the 'useless' rear seats for placing items on...and I guess I don't really need another little 'door' to fish around in for stuff I have 'stuffed' in there, hahaha.
But looks like a nice job on the 'refinish'...

When I restored mine I removed the center divider but also the tie down clips. Looks like this one has the locks everyone talks about for the Cabs.

I had it recarpeted when I bought it and removed the hoops and the bar/divider on the top.
The benefits have been great for me...including being a two seater for car pool lanes (I am in the San Francusco area where many areas require three passenger "unless you are a two seater or a pick-up truck").
Good luck with the "hunt".

The locking mechanism is a solenoid that moves a pin to secure the two doors on the rear seat delete unit. The polarity determines if the pins are engaged or disengaged. I wired mine to a rocker switch I placed in the switch section of the console. I used a factory switch that is double pole, double throw.
It is a three position switch , momentary contact with center position off. The one I obtained has two small white triangle arrows, pointing up and down. The switch is probably a window switch, but it is an exact match to the other switches in the console. I wired it so one of the momentary positions reverses the polarity from the other momentary position....lock and unlock.
I can lock or unlock the doors by pushing the switch one way or the other. This is an old picture that will show the switch…..
