I forgot the exact year but it's probably one of the issues in 1995.
BTW, is the 911 in the Jan94 R&T a Riviera Blue ?!?

I have distinct memories of a comparison of the 993 Turbo S to the 959. I must have read it 100 times...
I guess it's the July '97 Car and Driver. Anyone have a copy of that?

My favorite 993 review. It's for a turbo:

I have never subscribed to motortrend but back in June 95 while waiting to board a plan it caught my eye while browsing through a book store. I decided on buying the magazine even though I read the article twice while standing there.

Modifying this thread based on IXLR8's input. I will try to catalog any submissions that people are able to dig up.

I found it when visitng Oz a few years ago.
Gives me a stiffy every time i read the article written by georg kacher (still see him contribute to car and driver or some such rag).

My favourites were the C&D 40000mile long-term test, the Performance Car "every 911 tested" article (they weren't kidding< even had a GT2), and Car magazine's test of 3 variants of the 993 in early 1994 (C2 coupe Tip, C4 coupe, C4 Cab). Great stuff.

Always funny to go into the way-back machine and revisit how everyone viewed these cars in as-delivered form.
Raise your hand if you'd have the same opinion of your car with 205 front tires and marshmallow shocks........... (I get that the 18s came with 225s up front, but how many non-widebodies were so equipped? I don't remember many.)

^^ yep, I remember reading an article in European Car that said something along the lines of: 'the base suspension is so good, only track junkies will need the M030'. The most telling reviews usually come from the follow-up model.
Here's the C&D Sept '97 'best handling' comparison. Note remark on pg74 suggesting that the narrow body would have been preferred![ducking](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon107.gif)
