Default Front Windshield Templates

I received a package today from a fellow Rennlister and all round nice guy, Neil Perry in Australia. He was kind enough to fabricate and send me a set of front window templates at his expense. This is a great place and many thanks mate !!

So know I have a full set of templates for the front and rear windshields for the 993. If anyone in the northeast needs an outline or tracing of the set, let me know. If you're local I'd certainly be glad to loan them out.

I believe it is to properly position the new windshield in the opening when replacing the windshield.

Templates are for the front and rear window alignment during replacement.

You don't need the templates. Just position the glass so it's evenly-spaced in the windshield aperture. Very, very easy.

Ouch. Not sure the question warrants that type of response. If everyone already knew everything, there wouldn't be much purpose to the forum.

jscott - saw you at CMP over the weekend rumbling at the gas pumps. Nice car! My dad and I were out dusting off our Rotax karts.

Wow, so much discussion over my offer to provide front and rear window fitment templates or drawings to anyone that wanted them and the foolish response of "I not so understand".

As far as the previous post that windshield fitting is "Very, very easy", I would reference the numerous horror stories of bad fits.

I can only conclude, As Ripley said:

All the installer has to do is make sure the windshield is placed equidistant from the inside of the windshield frame, so the plastic glass surround doesn't rub the metal of the frame...the fact that this is sometimes not done doesn't make the job hard, it makes a lot of installers incompetent.
