It's a RSR intake.

Yes,I know. The last and most powerful air cooled engine to leave the factory has an aluminum induction system. Not plastic. It has been said repeatedly that the 3.8 RSR Cup cars have plastic intakes. This is not correct, apparently.

Super Cup intake, no MAF, single throttle

The official name of the RSR was '911 Cup 3.8 RSR"
RSR intake, 6x ITBs, enlarged version of the 964 aluminum manifolds

Bill, Are you saying FVD makes there own version or are both pictures factory parts? I'm not talking about the individual throttle bodies just the induction housing. Why would someone use the alloy version over the plastic or vice versa? Thanks in advance for explaining.

I believe that the enlarged version of the al. intake was made by Theilart(sp?) they are 2 diffferent setups entirely

the M001 aka Supercup used the 993 plastic manifolds w/ a single throttle body and MAP sensor, all run by the good old 55pin old Motronic M2.1 it was a one design series so they didn't care about maximum hp just that all the cars were evenly matched and relatively low maintenance

the Cup RSR were the money series where they were going against the rest of the world so they put all the best tech that they had at the time into the cars, big cams and and ITBs were needed, these cars were never as fully developed as they could because the regs changed and the turbocharged GT2 became the flag leader and these were never completely dominant, again because of the rules that kept changing to slow them down

Close ... it's Thielert and they did the programming on the original dual program ecu's for blackie and other Andial 3.8 twin plug TT's. It could be flipped back an forth on the fly (assuming one had 100 octane fuel on board) by the infamous Psychopath Switch.
