Default 991 993 comparison phots

You guys asked for some additional poses. The rain stopped and the sun came out so here they are. The 991 is bone stock at the moment, while the 993 has H&R ROW suspension. I think the 993 is easily the prettier car but the 991 really looks menacing when viewed in your rear view mirror...quite a stance. Enjoy

First, you have a beautiful yard!

Second, thanks for the great pics. The positioning of the cars really helps to show the size and design differences between the two. The 991 looks almost freakishly big next to the 993, which just looks right.

great pics, thanks for sharing. I can't get over how much lower the rear bumper is on the 993.

I think with all the SUVs that are driving around today, it was wise of Porsche to make the rear bumper higher in the 991.

The 991 makes a 993 look so small. Hard to believe that both cars have about the same curb weight (coupe to coupe that is).

Amazing the difference in size and proportions between the two. My buddy's new 981 Boxster is also bigger than my car.

Cowhorn...only the first 2 pictures were taken in my yard, the others were taken in a park down the creek from my place.

Yes, the 991 is larger and I think is more handsome as a coupe. I got a cab to kick my motorcycle jones. Remember the first Cobra, with the 260 and wire wheels. It is 4" shorter, 5" narrower and 200lbs lighter than the first gen Miata. I am definitely bigger now than I was in 1962.

Both are beautiful cars but I still feel there is more romance with the 993.

PS: Cowhorn- your GT3 RS is BEAUTIFUL. White is the only way to go for that car!

I think a reason for the weight difference is the thickness of the steel. My Boxsters were so thin, if you looked at it hard, there would be a door ding. My 993 feels a lot more substantial.

^^^ Thanks. I am on the hunt for a nice 993 coupe to join her in the garage.

I like both the 991 and the 993 but prefer the 993.

This thread is ironic in that I had a dream last night that I was driving a 991 PDK cabrio that I had just bought. Was almost a nightmare except that in my dream I retained my 993 so all was good. I wouldn't mind owning a 991 S coupe someday in addition to my 993.

All I can say is that the 993 is special..... My wife hates my GT3, she also hates my 993.... But when she slammed the door on the 993 the other day, there was a pleasant smile on her face.....l...l

Or it could be the use of aluminum.

Yep. Slamming the door, or opening it on a 911/964/993 is something feels like closing/opening a vault door. Everyone is impressed by the feel of it.
