How much new NVH is generated when switching to the solid subframe mounts? I already have the solidish engine and transmission mounts. Will the subframe mounts vibrate my fillings out?

No, the engine does not have to be dropped. Items 1 can be unbolted from the 'over engine' cradle. The rest should be supported, but can be lowered some once the bolts (#6) are removed. You don't want to just let everything hang though.
I bought the Rennline solid mounts with tilt. I could not find info on why to/not tilt. Does anyone know the pro/con for this?
Thanks!!!!

I'm having the Rennline Tilt Kit put in my 993tt while the motor is out getting a top-end rebuild. From what I know the Tilt kit was done in the EVO race cars to help better plant the rears when exiting a corner...since those cars have higher HP. So for some of us Turbo guys with 500hp+ they are supposed to do something...but who knows.
My wrench thought they can be done while the motor is still in the car but would be a bit of a pain. mine was out anyway so I thought good time to change them out.

You can do them engine in or out. Tilt kit was for extremely lowered cars and assist the roll center. I installed my kit for race only. It is not an option I would consider for a street car. Keep in mind that when you do one part of a series of solid upgrades you need to complete the other parts of the setup in the same fashion. The easiest way to get the rubber out is using a hole saw then cut the metal bushing carefully and pop it out with a chisel. Some guys burn the bushing out but I found a hole cutting out the rubber portion so much easier.

Both the flat and tilt compensate geometry on very low cars, the flat kit more so than the tilt because it raises the suspension up into the chassis more
The tilt adds a lot of caster which adds to anti squat, which the flat kit does not do. And probably confuses alignment process too, be sure to have someone that knows what they are doing wrt alignment particularly KT which is another name for caster, RSR and GT2 EVO had zero KT.
RSR and GT2 Evo used the tilt kits, Cups did not.
The tilt kit requires modified mounting of the forward transverse member.
I have a flat kit and don't see any additional harshness but maybe I'm just insensitive
The Rennline kit in either form is the way to go, do buy the bolts w/ it though you can go to a VW dealer too just saves some running around
These kits can be installed easily w/o removing the engine or trans., I used an air chisel to knock the old ones out. They are just slip fits but years of corrosion can greatly reduce the slip part

I went to the sollid subframe mounts, over the winter. NVH increase quite a bit. And I love it. It's now just the car I intended to buy 12 years ago, lol.
