Is there any particular reason why Porsche made both 18x7.5 and 18x8 for the front? Is one preferable over the other? Does the M030 suspension option have any impact on this?

The 18x8 fronts are original to the 993. The 7.5s came out with the 986 and the 996. The M030 / M033 options only changed the ride height (slightly larger sways also) and did not have any impact on wheel size.

Thank you, any idea why the 18x7.5 has a 993 part number then?

Nice, I will probably lean towards the normal twists due to price, though.
I knew they were making hollow twists for 993s, my question is why there is a 18x7.5 and an 18x8 for the front (both normal and hollow) and which one is "correct". If both are correct, why were they ever two width to begin with? 993pbug said that the 7.5 came out for 986 and 996, but why do they carry a 993 part number then?

Need a little help here. May be purchasing these wheels and wondering what the fitment will be like on a NB 993. Any help/photos/advice appreciated!

Front rims 7.5Jx18-ET50

Rear rims, 9Jx18-ET52

Tires are Falkens Ziex Ze912 , Front 225/40Z18 92W

Rear 265/35ZR18 97W.

I am told that 7.5x18 were used on Boxsters and that early 986s carried 993 part numbers.

I’m hoping to confirm the 993 factory front size for the Turbo Twist NB wheels. Does anyone know if it’s 7.5x18 et 50 or 8x18 et 52

I think it’s the 8x18 but I’ve got my eye on a nice set which has the 7.5x18 (50). Is there a spacer to make the stance look right?

The correct front 993 twist wheel is 8" wide and 52 offset. The 7.5" wide 50 offset is a 996 wheel. It will fit the 993 and the difference in the tire contact patch is small.

As stated above by SKM the 8" width was correct for the 993 however I had 7.5" fronts and they looked just fine, I don't imagine too many would feel the difference either.
I ran a 7mm spacer up front and that pretty much brings the front wheel out to where it should be. It's also about as thick a spacer as you can use without changing the wheel studs.
