I thought Stahlgrau 61W was the matte finish for the C2S Vesuvius mirrors/handles/grille, what appears to be a lighter color than the above color? Maybe it just looks different once clearcoated.

Different types of film can definitely alter color. Fuji Velvia is a good example of an "inaccurate" (but gorgeous) film. Color balance profiles (AWB, sunny, cloudy, etc.) can change color accuracy, too.

I don't disagree, but usually color balance doesn't alter shade. The hue looks similar, but the shade looks darker. And hey, old guy, who the heck is still using film to photograph wheels in their kitchen?
