Default Anyone have experience with this private dealer in Ohio?

They have a modified 993 Turbo (that they're calling a GT2, but that's a different thread entirely). Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. They have a few p-cars that look nice in the photos. But they're a long ways from me in Maryland and I've been disappointed before after traveling to pick up a "perfect" car...

Looks like a really well prepared car. That said, I dont know anything about the company selling it. My first call would be to Deman motorsports though. I am in Dayton Ohio. It is probably about 3 hours from me. May be able ot dio a rennfax if enough beer is involved

I was thinking about going up to check that car out. It's about an hour away from me.

Can't help with the dealer but there are tons of threads on the car, it looks awesome. Original build was by rennlister ponzzz

Here is his for sale listing:
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-turb...onversion.html

Then bought and reworked and sold(?) by rennlister rare911s

Here was his for sale listing:
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-turb...evo-build.html

You can search here and under the 993 Turbo section for more threads about it.

For price comparison this similar one looks like it sold for $57K

OOC what are they asking for it?

Default thanks

thanks so much for the background -- glad to know it has changed hands a couple of times already.

they want ridiculous money for it. 997.1GT3 money -- almost 997.2 GT3 money

if any of you who are close to the car go and check it out, i'd be happy to donate towards travel money, fancy beer, dancing girls whatever for a RennFax (love it)

i seem to have some sort of mental illness that pushes me towards modified cars

then they turn out to be a big pain...

I lived 15 minutes from Solon for almost 30 years and never heard of the place. That means nothing, of course, but I always get annoyed at any retailer who puts "call for price" in an ad. Put down the damn price you want. If its crazy out of my price range, then I can forget about it and not waste mine or the seller's time. I freely admit to a significant bias to any seller who pulls that crap, no matter what the item. If you don't know your price, you aren't ready to market the item. OK, rant over.
I'm further away now but have to go to Solon to pick up a table iin the next couple weeks. I may stop in. Any specific ?s if I do get there?

If you are seriously interested, Eric Steinel is in Twinsburg, not more than 20 minutes away. He has been my 911 mechanic since 1991 and could check the car out better than most casual observers. Just google Steinels Autowerks for info. Great guy - smart and honest.

+1 on Steinels. They did the ppi on my car and I had them replace the turbos (with UMW parts) before it shipped out west.

Thanks for the tip on Stienels

Thanks to rsr91128 posting the previous 2 RL sales (ponzzz & rare911s)

I agree w how annoying it is to not put a price in a listing

I wish I'd seen it when it was listed here. I've never owned a 993 & every time I see one I like it.n. I offered r&h 75k

Sounds like they would have made a good profit at that number. They turned me down. My next offer -- if there is one-- will be lower.

I don't know the car business but he's had it on his lot for months & months

+1. Best advice yet. I have heard a ton of good things about Steinels. As for me, car looks awesome but too much drama and history with that car. I would go buy a nice clean 993tt and be done with it.

They have had it for a while. I first saw it advertised with them in March I think. This same dealer also has the famous gold/two-tone brown 993 Turbo. I might head up there this weekend and take a peek.
