Fuchs for 993
Hi all,
I see that fuchs are launching new sizes in 17" and 18", see link below.

I've always loved these wheels, but are they too retro for a 993? I'm very tempted to move away from my standard cup 2 wheels for these when available.

personally speaking, I am a strong believer in age-appropriate porsches, meaning I LOVE the 17" standard Cup wheels on 993's because it is appropriate for the model and years of these cars. Fuchs were awesome, but for earlier generations. I also hold these thoughts about duck tails on 993's (again, simply my opinion, which I'm certain not everyone will agree to).
Your decision - your car. Whatever makes you happy!

Check out this link. Lots of pics of 19" Fuchs on a C4S. Owner didn't like them and I agree. Maybe the 18's will look better.

The geometry of the 19" version was so drastically different from the original 16" that they don't even look the same to me.
It is really a matter of personal preference, if you like the look, go for it!

A fan of the stock factory look, and correct look for the time of the car, just an opinion.

the 993 dosnt take back dating very well. Considering some 911 owners update to 993 body says alot.
the cup 2 wheels are the look for a 993. Turbo twists, speedlines etc..

Im thinking the Fuchs definitely look better in smaller diameter, so maybe 18s or even 17s will be the ones for a 993.
That said my objective with my car was to keep stock, which means the 17" cup 2's its on currently, but i'm kind of getting itchy to try something else. Or maybe a change of finish on the cups...

The problem is the size/shape of the windmill blades. On the 19's they resemble petals or spinners. It would look better if these were smaller and internalized more within the rim.
