To me the Fuchs just look much more substantial in smaller diameters (if that makes sense), they lose much of their visual appeal stretched to 19". IMO 18" twists look about perfect on 993's, the 17" OEM Cups really do look small in comparison. Only aftermarket wheel that looks right for me on 993's are BBS LM's. To each his own.....

I would love a set of 18" cups (look period correct) but as rare as hen's teeth.

Your decision - your car. Whatever makes you happy!
Ha! Funny how things change! When I got my car back in '01 it seemed that everyone here was into "upgrading" from the Cup IIs ...and it continued that way for some time. And now I see more and more folks opting to keep their Cup IIs. Not disagreeing; just funny to me, and perhaps more a statement of how the older a car gets, the more folks want to keep the original look. FWIW, I was one of those lusting after a cooler wheel, in an 18" of course. But ever since I did the suspension and got the ride height down where I wanted it, I ended up loving the Cup IIs, and not because of "period correctness" as much as they simply look great on our cars!

As for the Fuchs?? ...not on a 993, IMHO. Heck I'd much rather go with the 5-spokers from the MY02 or the newer one (997?) as both these styles look "right" for our cars. But not the Fuchs in my eyes. OTOH, I'd love love LOVE to have these Fuchs in 17" for my SC ...getting the right tires in 16" is getting stupid difficult.

I love the look and have been waiting patiently for a real delivery date. If 17's can be spaced properly for a wb then I'll go that route. My 18" hollow twists will go up on a shelf until selling day...

I was just at the Showtime in Interlaken and saw that Fuchs had a set of 17 and 18" mounted on a car.

As a fan of Techart Formulas (which were the closest aftermarket wheels to look like a Fuchs until recently), I like the new Fuchs as well as the 19" "Fuchs" wheels on the 997 Sports Classic on a 993. The wheels (and 19" size) don't work for all cars and colors, but as shown on Graham's and Jauder's speedsters, on the right car, they look perfect!

Any pics? I'm so curious what this would look like (not photoshopped).

Unfortunately I don't have any pics. They were mounted on a late 80s 911, 2 17" on one side and 2 18" on the other, for display purposes.
I'll try to find pics elsewhere.

plus or minus 17lb in the 8x17,...that's pretty sweet.
