Rb 993 sold
You are welcome. Like I said: Everyone just needs to settle down. Breath......
Rennlist is a special place and recently in a few threads, it's been not so special. We got to stop the bashing or whatever you want to call it. This place had a huge blow up in the mid 2000's and lots of good folks left, and a lot of bad folks too, but it was not a fun time here on the 993 forum. I'd hate to see that happen again.
Everyone just calm down.........
Wow ~ Maybe we'll stick with SY.
VERY INTERESTING connection.
Well said JoAnne. Okay I might be a few thousand miles away from your BBQ, but well said nevertheless..

Tony is a good guy and, speaking from personal experience, gets an A+ in his business transactions.
And to stay in the BBQ theme, he just takes the internet with a few less grains of salt than necessary.
Best wishes to all for a great weekend!
John
PS. I am going to leave the thread open for a while for a group hug and close it later.

The Best Porsche Posts for Porsche Enthusiasts
This thread is about the RB C2S that GYMGUY may or may not have sold for $120,000, possibly. Let's pick on him since he just made $60K.....maybe.

I count DALLWA as a good guy. He's provided sound advice to me in the past since I'm still looking for that elusive Cab. This is America. We all try to make a buck here or there. DALLWA has always struck me as kind and honest.
Gotta love 1st world problems!
When someone creates 3 different accounts over two years, and deletes a lot of old posts in the process, something ain't quite right.
At the very least your posting umpteen times about your own car in multiple threads on the RB car that just sold (subtle hints at selling, not-so-subtle hints at selling, posting pics of your own car (LOL), then transitioning to "the car is going into storage soon and this thread makes me think,,," was OBNOXIOUS.
My BS meter is just pegged-out with you and your posts.
Move on guys...there's more to debate rather than whether someone should be castrated for being smart with money and benefiting from selling items.
You need to realize, its not about you, and how you feel about what I do with my cars or my money.
I can sell it, store it, buy it back, sell it again, set it ablaze if I wish. I'm not sure why you feel it's any of your business. Most importantly you're creeping me out for the simple fact you are even worrying about what I do, period.
Why is it any of your concern? Seriously? Why do you care?
And for whatever freaky reason you do care, your some guy named Mongrelcat from Seattle. Why would I give a flip about your opinion on anything?
Insert creepy music now.

A flipper? A flipper implies someone who buys and then resells for a profit.
I've been on this board for 2 years, and owned 4 cars. Which two of those cars are sitting in my garage. The other two cars in question were a C2 and 993TT.
I'll humor you because Mark is eating popcorn.
The C2 I bought for:
$28k, +$300 PPI, +$1200 (shipping), + $2k (tax), +1k Fister stage III = $32.5K
I owned it for 7 months, couldn't stand how freaking slow it was, and sold it
for $33k = + $500 profit!!! (Yes, I'm a flipper and I love it!!)
The 993TT I bought for:
$51k + $1,200 (shipping) + $4k (tax) + $1600 (New Differential), + $3500 Hardbacks, $500 Red seat belts = $61,800
I owned it for 5 months or less (no comment why) and sold it for $51,300 =
= $10,500 loss (I suck at my new flipping career!)
Net flipping business adventure = -$10K loss (this number may go up or down based on what car I want to buy next)
So, there you go. Add up all the other parts I've bought and sold, some gain, some loss, call it even, I'm still the worst "flipper" on the planet.
I'll even tell you I'm a bit embarrassed by all the money I've spent, lost, whatever, but its my hobby and I have enjoyed it nevertheless.
Plus, I have nothing against "flippers" or "flipping". If that is your thing and you disclaim it, then go for it.
Sure, I like don't like some of you, some of you don't like me. I get that, I'm ok with that, I embrace that, its part of life.
However, I like many people on here, spend all day talking to them, and vice versa. That's been the best part of this site for me.
To Mark's point below (CarreraX), I have alot of cars I want to experience in this lifetime, and not enough money to just keep buying them and storing them.
So, that causes me to sell one to buy one. It's the deal I have with the wife. Last time we checked you're not part of our decision making process.
Actually unless you have a seat at the dinner table, your opinion has extremely limited value.
If I chose to sell my RB cab today or next year, I will sell it for market value and if its more than what I paid of ~ ($45k), then great for me!
Evidently there are a few people out there who have to have a RB 993 and have more money than they know what to do with. Yes, if I got
$70k for my RB cab, I would have to seriously consider. However, that doesn't seem to be my MO, and I'm sure somehow I will lose money on that too.
When I rejoined the board with DALLWA id, its because I let Spidey 993 id expire. I couldn't get it back, I tried, but thems the rules.
I told myself I wouldn't participate in these personal attacks anymore. It's the worst part of Rennlist experience for me, it's embarrassing, and juvenile.
I'm a father of 4 children and bashing others on the internet or defending myself from people who don't know anything about me behind a keyboard versus spending time holding my little one, is the worst waste of time.
14 years as a police officer in the Army/Reserves, I've learned to talk some serious ****z to people. When you spend 14 hours a day on a firing line next to 40 men, you spend time talking smack to pass the time and
it becomes second nature. If I engage, I apologize for it, but mostly I refuse to participate anymore......speaking of that I gotta go kids want breakfast.
I know Mark, you don't like me. We've never met. If we did, we still might not like each other. I'm not sure.
Couldn't say it better, thanks Mark!
I agree with mongrelcat to some extent that deleting posts and having three different screen names is just weird and would seem to indicate a desire to hide...something. You left as Spidey 993, never to come back again, but surreptitiously came back on as DALLWA; maybe you didn't want the board to know who you were since you said you were leaving for good. Most people who choose different names will often put "Formerly XXX993" or whatever to let the board know that they changed their identity.
