eBay, to my thinking, is a marketing tool for a car like this. It could sell to the high bidder, but very well may not. Then you message the other bidders and see if they were for real. One of them should be at some price...

Mongrelcat,

A flipper? A flipper implies someone who buys and then resells for a profit.

I've been on this board for 2 years, and owned 4 cars. Which two of those cars are sitting in my garage. The other two cars in question were a C2 and 993TT.

I'll humor you because Mark is eating popcorn.

The C2 I bought for:
$28k, +$300 PPI, +$1200 (shipping), + $2k (tax), +1k Fister stage III = $32.5K
I owned it for 7 months, couldn't stand how freaking slow it was, and sold it
for $33k = + $500 profit!!! (Yes, I'm a flipper and I love it!!)

The 993TT I bought for:
$51k + $1,200 (shipping) + $4k (tax) + $1600 (New Differential), + $3500 Hardbacks, $500 Red seat belts = $61,800
I owned it for 5 months or less (no comment why) and sold it for $51,300 =
= $10,500 loss (I suck at my new flipping career!)

Net flipping business adventure = -$10K loss (this number may go up or down based on what car I want to buy next)

So, there you go. Add up all the other parts I've bought and sold, some gain, some loss, call it even, I'm still the worst "flipper" on the planet.
I'll even tell you I'm a bit embarrassed by all the money I've spent, lost, whatever, but its my hobby and I have enjoyed it nevertheless.
Plus, I have nothing against "flippers" or "flipping". If that is your thing and you disclaim it, then go for it.

Sure, I like don't like some of you, some of you don't like me. I get that, I'm ok with that, I embrace that, its part of life.
However, I like many people on here, spend all day talking to them, and vice versa. That's been the best part of this site for me.

To Mark's point below (CarreraX), I have alot of cars I want to experience in this lifetime, and not enough money to just keep buying them and storing them.
So, that causes me to sell one to buy one. It's the deal I have with the wife. Last time we checked you're not part of our decision making process.
Actually unless you have a seat at the dinner table, your opinion has extremely limited value.

If I chose to sell my RB cab today or next year, I will sell it for market value and if its more than what I paid of ~ ($45k), then great for me!
Evidently there are a few people out there who have to have a RB 993 and have more money than they know what to do with. Yes, if I got
$70k for my RB cab, I would have to seriously consider. However, that doesn't seem to be my MO, and I'm sure somehow I will lose money on that too.

When I rejoined the board with DALLWA id, its because I let Spidey 993 id expire. I couldn't get it back, I tried, but thems the rules.
I told myself I wouldn't participate in these personal attacks anymore. It's the worst part of Rennlist experience for me, it's embarrassing, and juvenile.
I'm a father of 4 children and bashing others on the internet or defending myself from people who don't know anything about me behind a keyboard versus spending time holding my little one, is the worst waste of time.
14 years as a police officer in the Army/Reserves, I've learned to talk some serious ****z to people. When you spend 14 hours a day on a firing line next to 40 men, you spend time talking smack to pass the time and
it becomes second nature. If I engage, I apologize for it, but mostly I refuse to participate anymore......speaking of that I gotta go kids want breakfast.

I know Mark, you don't like me. We've never met. If we did, we still might not like each other. I'm not sure.

As much as I love my white car, I would sell it in a minute for the right price. I would then look for a white TT. And when I was done with that one I would sell it and buy whatever I wanted next.
Im a 48 y/o guy that has had 7 porsches and about 30 BMW's. I dont buy them to sell them. I buy them, my ADD kicks in and I want something else so I change focus. Ultimately I sell one and buy another. Maybe Im out of line but I dont think what Tony does is a bad thing. I think it is just a car guy trying to experience as much porsche fun as possible and trying to do it in a way that makes sense. Now if he was dishonest or trying to cheat people, that would be a different story. From what I have seen, he has been very open about it. Just my .02.

Mark, as with everything there is more to the story than what is seems to be on the surface. People flip cars, items, seats, wheels, whatever. Its not the action itself but the way you go about it and present it. He is certainly NOT a thief and I'm not implying that, but having said that, I'm also not going to elaborate anything further out of respect to this community and the spirit/ faith that we all have for each other.

What I would suggest is that Mr. Dallwa or Spidey or whatever presentation he is making, should IMO quit while he is ahead instead of making statements about this and about that.

Dallwa In the past you have a history of deleting your posts, closing threads etc when things get tough for you. That makes you look worse anyway. This time around, just let it go if you want to try and fit with this community.

In the past I have stayed away from outing you in this community. I have tried really hard and I'm still trying. Enough is enough.

Danny and I don't like each other.

I contacted him, wanting to buy his black/black heated hardbacks. I thought my next 993 would have black interior and a year round daily driver, so I want hardbacks with heat.
I figured I'd put them in the cab in the meanwhile, but it looked stupid. My cab has classic grey, and I would have to dye the rear seats, that funky middle thingy in back seat...and dashboard and doors.

He said "money talks" (and I have it in email Danny), so he charged me a net of $4700 with shipping. I paid that amount because I thought it would be worth it in the long run for a daily driver,
having heat, and I thought I freaking scored!

Well, I found a 993TT with classic grey interior with classic grey hardback seats. Guess what...no black interior. So I put the seats in closet just in case for next car (who knows).

Time went buy and I decided, I would sell them. HB seats are going up everyday. I sent Danny an email explaining that I am planning on selling, and I felt I should tell him. Not sure why, but I thought I should.
He didn't respond to my PM.

I put them up for sale. Danny starts posting on my threads that I am a "flipper".
We exchange PM, I blast him for saying that, he blasts me for lieing to him. He felt I bought the seats to flip.

I sold the seats for $5500 to someone who thought they would be buying a 993 soon, and wanted the heat on the east coast. So, I made a gain of $ 800.

So that is the story. I'm not ashamed of it. Life changes. We buy and sell parts for our cars all day every day. I freely admit I make money sometimes (values go up) and lost money on parts (values go down). I just lost several hundred selling some wheels, but made someone a great deal. I lost $400 on some mufflers I didn't even open. Someone got a great deal. Its the nature of the beast and if I'm the only one, so be it.

I know your pissed because I sold your seats and for more than I paid. But at the time when I bought them from you, I paid a ridiculous amount myself with you saying "Money talks, highest bidder".

I'm confused on why its ok for you to buy low and sell higher, but not me if that rarely happens? Please "out me". Don't throw bombs and run away. Let's watch you stumble over your own words, and hypocritical statements. And I can close, open, delete (not anymore), any thread I want. It's my thread. Its an option to you as a member to close a conversation.

Im back
Bob,

I'm busted!

I was Spidey 993 and said I wouldnt be back.

Now, I'm no where near on this site like I was before, but I bought a new 993TT so I asked for some RL assistance and created a new account.

I don't want to break any rules. I'm fine with my new ID if within rules?

Thanks
Tony

I'm clearly remembering why I left this place. It the witch hunts by the few that are just embarrassing to be a part of.

Hey Tony (dallwa, spidey, whatever),

Take flipper as a compliment. I flip all of the time (just not my RUF). It's fun to try new stuff.

Why does anyone even care? Probably jealousy. No different than the people who give you mean looks for having a pcar or a Mercedes or whatever.

Keep posting. I like your comments and especially your taste in cars.

Thanks Patrick, I do appreciate that.

This board can be brutal. And I'm diabolical thinking of my next hair brained scheme to make pennies on the dollar! Wahahhahahahah

<<<<---------- See these two cars. They are paid in full by reselling used floormats to Rennlisters on the black market.

Come on guys, can we stop now?

We all need to get together for BBQ and brew. Then we'd see what we are all really like away from this lighted box we sit in front of day in and day out.

See, that's what's lost now. Sure, we've got an international reach, but the face-to-face of local groups is lost. Was glad to have been able to enjoy it while it happened as I was young and early middle-aged.
