Default Winter project - upgrade suspension - DIY?

I have dedicated gararge space.

I will likely use FSD.

I have done things in the past on my cars such as:

- brakes (lines, bleeding, pads etc).

- exhaustt

- oil

I am biting off more than I can chew by trying to do this.

Once the car is away for the winter - there will be no rush for this. I will have up to 3 months to do iit

I don't think you will have issues.. it's pretty straight forward and you just need the right tools to torque the top of the shock towers. Everything else it undo\tighten nuts.. and it's a lot of fun!

Do it!! It's not too bad!! It's one of those things you need to get an alignment
after anyway, I got my guy to double check my torque specs while realigning. I
budgeted a whole weekend (Sat + Sun) for the install of my PSS10s, but
ended up doing it all in 8hours or so...

Not a difficult job if you have moderate wrenching skills, a good set of tools and the space. There are a couple of great diy writeups you can read to get a handle on the level of difficulty and if it is within your means.

I did it on my c2 and enjoyed the heck out of it.

A lot of standard wrench sets don't come with an 18mm wrench for some reason. I would recommend getting one or two before starting the job.
Because the springs are not "loaded" this is really one of the easier cars to work on suspension wise.

Best of luck!

Do it! If you can do oil and brakes you can do suspension. Like others said the quality of tools is the most important preparation!

You should be fine, and you have a very good support network here - so that should help a lot. Go for it!

cheers,

Mike

LOL, or if, for whatever reason, you need a "special open socket tool" and all reputable tool shops in the area are closed for the weekend, improvise:

Ignore my welds..It was my 2nd time ever..and without Argon...
