Unsurprisingly, no ones posted that they don't particularly enjoy the colour of THEIR 993 ..

I'm no exception!

What I have found unusual though is that I've been bringing my 993 to meets for about 6 years now , and have noticed a real swing towards Iris(h) blue in the last year .. Way more compliments on the colour than ever before.
I think it might be that as time marches on , some colours look a bit dated, but Iris has come back into vogue, it seems to be a very popular choice among the next generation of Porsche lovers.

My young enthusiast (pictured) agrees!

Light colors hide minor panel and paint imperfections but highlight the body lines. Dark colors hide any body line issues but show dust, peel, waves or dings in a panel. Pros and cons to both.

I must say that GP white is warmer than most white colors and some folks at a glance have asked if it was a pearl white because it has a special glow to the color.

Nice color combo. The black and red is very nice. The big question, what color tiles does it sit on?

Something you don't see very often.....Forest Green Metallic over Chestnut.....but I'm biased.

I'm biased. I think Arena Red in a wide body 993 is iconic.

That said, Turquoise blue is awesome.

Amethyst is stunning, IMO, but talk about rare...

Over the entire range of 993 years what colors were “standard”? I’m trying to understand which colors could have been ordered on a normal production order vs. what was the equivalent of PTS/special order. Example - I’m assuming Riviera Blue was a special order and never a color that was available as standard on a 993. So I’m just looking for the short list of colors that came standard (Black, Guards, Carrara White, etc.)

Thanks in advance.

I have Arena Red, but bought based on circumstance (low price, beggars can't be choosers). If I could choose my color, I'd have preferred Speed Yellow.

Riviera Blue was a standard color only in 1995. I believe there were 7 cabs and 17 coupes made for the USA. After that it was PTS. Blue Turquoise was a standard color in 1996 and 1997. Polar Silver was standard in 1995 and 1996, Arctic Silver in 1997 and 1998. I know there is a chart with the standard colors for the respective model years. I will try to find it. EDIT: here is a document from Porsche. No info for 1998, maybe Euro model years as it has 1994.

Rarest is probably one of the 94 only colors. Maybe rubystone?

Setting aside PTS of course.

I have Polar silver. Love it. Happened to be on a car that was in good condition that I could afford.

The red red ones catch my eye. Back in the day when you could buy these things from Porsche, red, more precisely 'Guards Red' was a very popular color on the 944. It was thought of as more a 944 color than a 993 color. You would see red 964s with the black fukes wheels, but 993s not so much.

Guards red looks so right on the 930 and 944. Classic 80’s movie Porsche. It seems to be a relatively rare color for the 993, which is interesting.
