I don't even know what the question means. It's not as if we all like the same things.

I luv it. I have a large 36" x 30" original poster of "Kills Bugs Fast"... its a beauty, and yes the Arena Red Metallic is top shelf !
When ordering the 993 I was that close to spec'ing Arena Red only to play is safe with a silver metallic over black leather. Arena Red Metallic, Slate Grey Metallic and Silver Metallic in that order for this 993 hobbist.

Hey, all of our cars are silver of some kind and yeah, we should get out more!

The reason why silver is the most popular color (much more than black) is because it's a "safe" color so when people spec their new car, they are not only thinking what looks the best, but what's good for resale value and grey/silver is the least "offensive" color so it's the safest bet when thinking about reselling.

Riviera no doubt is the most desirable 993 color.

I'm on my third Porsche and found the color painted on the car in the best mechanical and cosmetic condition with the most expensive (clutch, synchros, struts etc) service work done already the best looking. This led me to Guards Red twice and Speed Yellow most recently.
Beauty is only skin deep, in this case only a few thousandths of an inch, - rotten mechanicals go to the bone!

Maybe - but if I had the means of speccing a Porsche new, I certainly would be picking the most desirable colour from my own perspective. No doubt there's a lot of demand for riviera blue - it's a great colour - but I do think the safe colours are those desired by most.

Anyway - all 993s are great no matter what colour.

Silver was the German racing color. And it's the easiest to keep looking clean.
