Replacement rotors...need ideas...

All of us running NB 993 on track would like an alternative rotor. My pet peeve is that they are only available as drilled. I run in PCA stock class, so I cannot change calipers and remaining in stock class.
FWIW, I buy rotors from Hennessey Porsche in Atlanta at a "reasonable" price, even with shipping to NJ. Cooling is essential to making them last, especially since the car does more track time at DEs than racing where my wife and I run in back to back advanced/instructor groups.

Good point JPS, not sure what happens when replacements are needed. I asked him that question & no response....
I got 20k street miles & 4 track seasons out of my front OEM's (guess I'm not late braking hard enough !); so if these last 2x as long I'm not as concerned with outer ring replacement, might go back to OEM at that point. I understand this is more of a concern for those that
track/race & go thru rotors more frequently.

Sorry we can't do any better due to new casting run.
This will be a two piece construction rotor and the hats are made of forged aluminum alloy.

So the pricing looks like 700/pair? @ 250/pair for stock rotors, these would have to last 3x as long, which is optimistic, but possible.... The math may work, but its not the slam dunk I was hoping it would be...
Is there any chance of getting them down to 500 or so per pair?

We haven't established the pricing yet, but they will cost slightly higher than those similar sizes we already made for other applications (such as this 320x32 for EVO 8/9) due to the extra deep hats (for both 993 and 928) than normal*, which can only be machined from larger forging blanks.

this is what im using .. the 964T front calipers and they allow for 322mm rotor. but im running the 330mm front rotor ring from Racingbrakes.com and a wrightwood custom hat. they give the special mounting hardware that fits snug, but also has oval axial elongated holes to allow for expansion.
they are vented, look awsome and have even better air vanes than brembo for cooling.
im running a pretty heavy car, 3000lbs and 450hp running PFC11 pads.
amazing stuff. ive been using stock rotors (solid) and they would last about 3 race weekends before serous cracking... these rotors never cracked (the hairline cracks you normally get) so i think the meterlurgy is better, PLUS with the aluminium hat, that dissipates heat better and in the pits, calpers, 350f, hats 250f, rotors 500F. temps for the solid rotors were 100to 200F higher near the hub.
Here are the rotors after the first practice session at laguna before the race on saturday.
pics are of the new version (black paint) vs brembo vs the old version of racing brakes.com last year
last years rotor that i was replacing, looked amazing after a full season! that is the last picture with the old pads about 5mm left on the PFC11s

Gyrodisk are a very worthwhile replacement for the 32x322 993TT rotors, but they don't come sized for the 332x304mm regular rotors.
I have seen the regular black caliper spaced out from the wheel carriers, this is what Brembo did on the 964RS and 9643.3t front which uses the same pad as the regular 993 front. I believe that there is some small difficulty but can't remember the details though.
You would need longer bolts
These are the same calipers except for the mounts
964RS/964 3.2t front caliper, w/ extnded mounts for use on 32x322mm rotor
993 front w/ normal mount. Unfortunately it is bolted to caliper adapter for use on a 964
You could even run this setup in front w/ stock 993 rears, it does move bias a little further forward, basically you would have 964 RS brakes. Might want to gut the p/v for better results.\
All that said, for track use you can't beat the 993RS setup w/o spending ~46k more for a set of racing brakes. though the 993RS/tt and 964RS/3.3t use the same size 322mm rotors and the 993SRS/tt caliper and pad is larger(132x58mm vs 132x48mm) w/ 10mm taller pad giving a larger swept area, the smaller caliper pad 964RS/3.3t generates more brake torque because the effective radius is larger. The difference is 2306 nm vs 2230nm at the same line pressure.
None of the modern race calipers use tall pads any longer, they all use shorter pads placed further from the axle

bigger rotor gives more of a heat sink to dissipate heat, AND, mounted to a aluminum hat sheds that heat much faster!
all you need to do to go even larger is a spacer on both caliper bolts to make that caliper fit a 345mm rotor !!! i think that would mount on the same hat if you ever wanted to upgrade, right RB.com?

i think a better upgrade for the 993 non turbo brake guys would be to increase the brake torque by increasing the rotor diameter. Giro makes a 355x32 with a 52mm annulus front for Brembo rotors that could possibly work and space the caliper possibly. the rear would be an issue as it is ear mounted not radial mounted.
I know the owner of Giro and he can use my car at his disposal. ill ask him if this is possible
