A socket on an extension with a ratchet is certainly fine for removing bumperettes.

Knight did you put anything into the socket when you removed the bulb?

Nope I simply removed the bulb.

btw I'm running LED bulbs for the rear license plate too, much better!

I did something similar on the interior dome lights by swapping them out with some led's I bought on eBay, but as you said, the lights have more of a cooler rather than warmer effect. So while brighter, I didn't like the led's so I ended up putting back in the original dome lights and putting the led's in the front boot and rear engine bay.

Hi

Personally I prefer the 35w 4300K HID's which are white rather than blue, and also give out more visible light than the bluer versions. I also prefer the standard interior lights. The matched side lights are nice though. I have not fitted mine yet.

I also had problems with the cheap ebay HID's so bought some more expensive ones that have Phillips electronics and they seem fine.

There are warm LEDs for interior, although i have not tried them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/370484826217...#ht_4410wt_996

$8 for a pair and a couple weeks wait, but could be nice. I've put white LED into a dome light. While I can see things now, I don't appreciate the morgue-like lighting they provide. Although I've gotten used to it somewhat over the last few month.
