Default quick wheel offset question...

quick question (yes, did a search)

would 18x8 +37 (front) and 18x11 +37 (rear) fit my WB 993?
if so, would anyone have pics of that aggressive of a set up?

I would think the front is no problem, but the rear would be 7 mm more aggressive than 996TT hollow spokes which are also 18 x 11's with a 45mm offset and seem to already fit pretty flush...

car sits at about RS +10mm.

thank you all.

18x8 +37 in the front would stick out quite a bit. Stock is +52.

My car has the following:

Front 18X8.5" et43 - 225/40/18

Rear 18X11" et33 - 295/30/18

Car is pretty low on KW V3s

thanks for the info triple G, I can see rears wont be a problem (yours fit beautifully), the fronts I am considering are half an inch narrower, but 6 mm more aggressive of an offset...

It should look basically the same then no?

The half inch extra width my wheels have equals 6.35mm.

technically you are correct, but the half inch width difference is symmetrical and split equally, where as the offset difference pushes the wheel outward...not even sure I am making sense here...lol

Say you have an 8" wheel and my 8.5". Both et43. My 8.5" wheels stick out 6.35mm further (half the extra width).

Make the 8" wheel et37 and that pushes the wheel out 6mm.

This is my thinking

did you have to roll the fenders at all, does it ever rub? did you notice a handling difference, or abnormal suspension wear? this has to slightly modify the suspension geometry, I would'nt want to strain the suspension components...in other words, it has to be form and function, and form at the cost of function.
your thoughts?

18x8 +37 will stick out just as much as the 18x8.5 +43, just an extra half inch of clearance on the inside.

This site takes all the headaches out of comparing offsets: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

I did not roll the fenders. The rear will slightly rub when I hit a big/sudden dip in the highway and only when I have a passenger with me.

I did the wheels and installed the KW V3s at the same time. I had a proper alignment done after so I noticed an improvement in handling. I can't say about wear on the suspension, it has only been a couple months with the new stuff installed. I honestly don't think I am straining anything..

thank you triple G...the pics help a lot...
why didn't you go with 235's in the front? you tires seem a little stretched on the 8.5 inch wheel, but your wheels fill the flares beautifully.
