Default One picture from this weekend (Palomar Mtn/Julian)

A couple friends and I did some canyon carving up and over Palomar Mountain and through Julian on Saturday. We didn't stop to take any pictures. Leaving Julian we split up to head home and one of my friends happen to catch me passing him while he was taking some scenic shots. Just thought I would share.

I'm hoping to acquire some Fister Stg IIs in the next couple weeks and do this drive again!

Nice shot! I was just passing thru Julian last week on my return from my 3600 mile driving vacation. I came in the back way thru the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Beautiful!

I used to drive that route in my '58 Speedster when I lived in San Diego. Is the Bakery/Cafe still there on Main street? Yum ;-)

Chuck,

Did you at least stop for pie in Julian?

I think I counted at least 3 different pie shops there in just the one block.
The apple pies looked incredible. I went for ice cream though.

^^^ It's been a few years ... like 1986 .. heh ... but I used to stop at the Julian Cafe and Bakery on Main IIRC .. and I always bought a loaf of their incredible seeded wheat bread for Tuna sandwiches. Man, it's making me hungry just typing this ....
I got snowed in at a friends cabin up there in March one year! My 2002TII with Pirrelli P3's just didn't have enough grip to get to the paved road ...

Yes, I did stop for pie at the Julian Pie Company. I had my pregnant wife with me

We did the East Grade and South Grade of Palomar Mountain and then stopped at Dudley's bakery for lunch. We then proceeded to Julian for pie, with cinnamon ice cream and a mountain of home made whip cream. Very delicious!

I did see a very nice 356 that was navy blue with tan interior in excellent condition. I should have snapped a picture...
