Ummm, yes. But you already knew that I'm sure! I find him to be competent. The cheapest guy in this area that we live, is not always the best. But, I don't want to be raked over the coals, either.
Nope, I knew you went there for some routine work a couple years ago but stuck with going to VA for everything else. He'a not the only one in our area so I wasn't sure.
Steve, since these Bosch fan motors are available separately, I might assume you can just replace the motor and re-install the original plastic fan.
I've seen them on-line for under $100.

Not sure on the price for a 993 fan motor, but I was able to source just the motor on my '85 Carrera when the canary started singing, and reused the existing fan. The fans don't go bad. Saved beaucoup bucks.
To the person who asked if the pollen filters are easy to remove, the answer is yes. BUT, replacing the filter covers is a royal PIA, involved a lot of cursing.
