Solid engine mounts will introduce a little NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) on a street car. Most go with the factory RS engine mounts or the Wevos on street cars.

When I put in the RS mounts in the Targa - no difference I could feel. Put the RS mounts in the Turbo - no difference I could feel. Put RS mounts in a friends C4S - no difference he or I could feel.

Mind you, in all those cases, the stock mounts were in good shape, but honestly, not sure of the value here.

Just my two cents.. lol!

Cheers,

Mike

Hi

I went for the RS mounts. As said above unless your mounts are shot the difference in NVH will probably not be significant for you. I notice the difference when I throw the car about.

I guess its a toss up between solid mounts or really stiff mounts.

when I was at S.P.A. last month all the cup car just mount the engine to the frame. and that really made the engine look like it was sitting low.

Not the right car, but I had solid mounts from Lindsey Racing on my 944. Ear-breaking drone anything above 4k RPM.

As for 993, I have RS mounts as well - no complains.

stock mount is good
RS mount (semi solid) is you must
solid mount if you aren't racing wheel to wheel is the dumbest thing you can do, especially in taiwan.

I went from RS mounts to solid and didn't mind the difference in noise.

This was in a 964 USA Cup with no interior sound deadening other than carpet over sheet metal.

Increase in noise is there and real though.

My $.02

If you go with solid mounts, unless your car is a turbo you will probably want to reinforce the engine carrier IMHO

I have what are for all intensive purposes solid mounts (engine + trans) on my car. It's not a daily driver but I like the mechanical noises that get transferred into the cabin. It's really a personal preference though. Shifting and clutch action are smoother with the solid mounts.
