Default Clock removal question

I am trying to remove the clock from my dash to give me access to run some wires behind the dash for a remote radar system I am installing.

I found a few suggestions on line, but have had no success. It is in pretty tight.

Any tips on how to do this and, avoid any dings to the dash or trim rings?

A flat dining knife does the trick for me every time.

You might find it easier to take the speedo out so you can get some leverage behind the clock.

I tried with each with no success.

I don't want to damage the dash and end up having a permanenet indentation in the vinyl/

The rubber rim around the gauges reatinthem in the dash with ribs?

correct?

Go between rubber and dash or between rubber and gauge?

The first time I pulled out my clock I had the same experience. It took a bit of patience, but I eventually was able to work it out. I attacked it from the bottom left corner. Took a clean wooden paint stirrer and a thin screwdriver with a wide enough blade to get leverage. I went in between the rubber and the gauge. You could probably go either way - but I found I got the best leverage this way. Keep the screwdriver square and fully pressed in under the lip so not to scratch the edge.

Go slowly and it will move. Then work the lower right side. You should get it to a point where you can then pull it out.

Hope this helps.

Try wrapping the screwdriver flat head in a microfiber towel, thin cloth or something to protect it from possibly damaging your interior.

I did this and it allowed me to dig the screwdriver in further without damage.
