steering wheel bushings on a plate that keeps the airbag weight off the horn... the 95s take a different part than the 96+... My dealer had to fix mine before I took delivery last week... ordered a 96, drilled out the bushings and installed them on my 95 part... there are some threads onhere and Pelican to help you through...
An easy fix is cutting pieces of hose or building up a layer of silicone (which takes time to dry so not as "quick) for each bushing. I used silicone, which lasted a couple of years. The second time, I installed a new horn frame.
Warmer weather must be impacting those bushings (maybe making them softer than normal??). Mine started doing this Sat. after being out in our record 107 degree heat.
I've used "shoe glue", which dries quicker than silicone, to help stiffen up the little bushings. Worked well, but the best solution is replacing the bushings.
It's an easy fix... replaced my horn support about two years ago... Maybe takes 15 minutes if you are really slow. Don't remember the cost exactly, but it wasn't expensive...
if you dont want to fork up the $XX (i think its over 50) you can put some bubble wrap wrapped in seran wrap and some silicone where the bushings go and it works perfectly fine.. thats what i did.
We need a sticky thread with the title:
"If your horn honks when braking, if your odometer has stopped working, if your window won't go down, click here for the answer."
