Default Price Check: 1996 C4S on Ebay

Am I wrong to think that this car is about $10K overpriced?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-...item2ebf187ce0

Also- what are member's opinions on the blue and grey two-tone interior?

Well .. it's a dealer so it's to be expected and Walnut Creek to boot. Anyway, the lower mileage (under 40K) is driving the price point but I'd say high $40K's .. 48+ would be retail private party sale. The two tone Midnight blue/marble grey is fairly typical with this paint color and I think it's quite handsome .. JMHO.

Guess I expected a car like this to pop up here. On our local, BMW-centric list someone asked "the group" what kind of crack we air cooled guys are on when he saw this car listed a couple of weeks ago. Conclusion was basically "if you get it, you get it.........if you don't, you don't."

Anyway, if you're past the basic attempt to profiteer here and need some eyeballs on the car I run back and forth past the dealer at least twice a day. Now, having time to actually stop in can be challenging. But let me know.

JPP-
You're right on about everything being overpriced in the East Bay! I'm unconcerned with finding a low mileage car, so I don't think the price would be justified for my personal needs. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the offer Ken, but the interior is a bit polarizing for me, and I don't think the price (even if they did come down to $48K range) would work.

Something more like the car AcademicTech has for sale but in a C4S is what I'm looking for... well maintained, tasty upgrades, higher mileage.

Well .. you can't insult a seller by making an offer at $48K .. but if mid-mileage is acceptable you will find many more examples of well maintained cars for a lot less money ..

You can knock almost 20k off that price if you go to 80k+ miles.

Just sayin'

Guess that makes mine worth $1.99. Why I'd hack it into a track rat before I'd subject myself to the hassle of selling.

So I'm stopped at the light in front of the dealer just now. Sign on it: WAS the $62995 NOW $55995..........

based on Colorado pricing, its a C4S with a rarer color in and out, with that mileage... for a dealer, its not that crazy of a price... $48-50k feels about right, but these cars are getting rarer by the day... hard to find really clean unmolested low mileage ones...

It's about $12k over priced, my buddy just picked up this c2s for a little bit less than asking price and the car has a new clutch, plus he got the title yesterday and the title states that the prior owner of the car was the COCA COLA family..

Agreed on the 10K but I'll take gray over beige any time!

Nice looking car. I think the fact that it is a 2dr is driving the price up.

OP - here's the Cashmere interior on a Ocean Blue Metallic car. What I personally love about it is how the Blue exterior compliments the interior color (two color contrast) and how the black interior bits work with it as well.

Grey is just too bland...reminds me of raining days. Don't listen to ilko he's nuts! LOL...

To give you some insight I paid just over $40k for my 1998 C4S with 53,000 miles Dec.2011...clean carfax, some service history but not all, and a two owner car. Keep shopping.
