Generally not a fan of blue interior but yours looks fantastic ...+1 on keeping the softbacks!

+993 for the softbacks. Keep the hardbacks for the turbo or sell them for a profit. I have no idea why people are willing to pay such a crazy price for the 993 hardbacks.

The softbacks are much more supportive than the hardbacks. As a matter of fact I think that the hardbacks are 100% overrated. They're not comfortable at all, and yes I'm for real...

well

having tried them both,I wouldn't say they are less supportive.

What do you mean with that?

In my opinion the confort is less, but the lateral support is way more.

They are overpriced because there aren't many of them, this make the hunt for some very difficult....very difficult

still imho it's a must for every high spec car, like recaro for RS and GT2's

My old daily driver of 8 years had the same soft back sport seats you have. My 993 (owned for 7 years) has the same hardback seats you just bought. The soft backs are far superior.

Had a trackday today and someone came over and offered a trade, my softbacks for his hardbacks! Getting a bit spooky all these hardbacks coming my way hahaha

I did not expect so many votes for the softbacks, makes me appreciate them even more. Just for fun I am going to install them and take some good pictures for possible future sale. When I decide to sell them I will put them up here first.

The "softbacks" are, IMHO, the best seat ever made by Porsche. Although I'll respectfully disagree on the hardbacks being uncomfortable (comfort, sound, looks etc. are all subjective), I think they are more show than go. Both my 993s have the hardbacks as they have from new.

I also seem to think that every succesive generation of "sport seat" has gottten less "sporty". 996 sport seats weren't as aggressively bolstered as the 993 hardbacks, 997s flatter still, and the latest 991 versions make me wonder why you'd bother.

To the OP, keep those beautiful blue softbacks right where they belong in the car. Hold the hardbacks and sell them on when you need the room or get another 993 (hint hint).

This.

And buy a Turbo in a really cool color, so the painted hardbacks really pop in the interior.

Even the hardbacks in my 997 TTS are overrated. Sure they look good but they're posers...

Agreed. Had an 02 996 before I came to my senses , it had the hardback sport seats and I don't think they were as good as the 993 sport version, maybe about on par with current standard seats.

Hi

I echo the above sentiments also. Keep the softbacks, store the hardbacks.
