Default Is there a market for 993 RSR Shocks?

Not run of the mill Bilstein RSR, but ones off the factory 993 RSR's?
Pn 993.343.510.31 & 993.333.051.81

I bought these several years ago and send them to Bilstein to be rebuilt and revalved (Factory springs were 1800 & 2000lb, way too high for me). In any case, I sent them back a couple of months ago for service, and am now being told they were not revalved and cannot be... They are proposing swapping out the valve stack with their current motorsports pack, but before I go an destroy what could be a valuable piece, I need some advice...

Is there a market for these? ie: are they worth similar money to a current motorsports shock ?

I am sure there is a market for these if they have the current style motorsport valving, coming up with a price would be the question....

I remember driving in a car that had the OE ones and on anything but a billiard table smooth track they were a handful.

What sort of pricing are they talking for the revalve?

The original quote was to revalve them as part of the standard rebuild $150/shock.

The trouble now is that they did all of this 2 years ago charged me for it but didn't do the work. The question now is: where to go from here... They have been great to work with and are trying their best to rectify the situation. They have already retrofitted one set of fronts (I have 2 sets) for "free". I'm sure I will have to chip in some to complete the set, but not sure how much yet.

They question I'm asking myself now: "should I try to sell them and buy new dampers or continue down the path of "fixing" these"? Starting over would be over $5k and I'm assuming the "upgrade" will be less than $1k. If I could get 2 or 3K out of these it may be worthwhile to start over.

A modern shock would certainly be better, so that drives their value down, but wondering if someone is restoring an RSR back to original specs (does anyone do that?) or for historic races do folks need factory spec shocks? Otherwise I'm assuming the value is too low to bother selling them.

I am sure that they will be worth alot of money some day. They can always be valved back to OE specs in case they become super valuable. But if your thought is that you might damage them by running them that is another question.

I don't have those parts listed for RS, RSR, Cup or GT2, are they the ones w/ external cans like Moton? like these

or these which were used on Cup and RSR
From Cupcar's build
993Cup shocks

Regardless, if they are Cup or RSR parts there will be a market for them. I went through He** getting a set of Cup shocks this spring and even though they are new they are at Bilstein SD getting revalved

They are the remote reservoir ones, only the front hubs are green instead of yellow.

If not GT2 or RSR what the heck are they? Nobody seems to know... They are definitely a Porsche piece, I got them used from the original owner who said they came off his ALMS RSR.

It depends if you don't need the money to buy new Motorsports shocks. I would have them revalved and enjoy them

I looked far and wide for those a while back. My wrench prefers them over any Moton, JRZ setup. No idea what the pricing would be on them, but let me call Geoff and ask tomorrow.
