Default Porsche Parade - 2012

I'm planning a road trip to Salt Lake City for the Porsche Parade in July. Any other RL's planning on going?

Not much of a road trip for me.

I'll be in the registration room (tours) for at least part of the day Sunday the 8th and at the welcome social. I've volunteered to be lead or sweep for canyon tours on Tuesday and Thursday. I'm planning to park my car on the lawn at the capital on Monday. At, but not in, the concourse. My wife is autocrossing Wednesday so I'll be there.

I'll wear some kind of rennlist name. Come by and introduce yourself.

Traverse City. We are going to run north to Buffalo then head over through Canada to Grand Rapids to check out Founders Brewing then on to the Parade.

If you see this vehicle putting around, its me.

My 77 Bronco has been in the shop for the last month getting some upgrades and lots of misc. things down to it. Picking it up tonight outside of Park City (Kamas). Its my summer toy and havent driven it hardly at all in the past few years. After what I just dropped in it for upgrades and tweeks, Im going to drive it.

Great looking Bronco- my dad had a '65 Land Rover back in the 80's- tire on the hood etc. Dog slow but a hell of a lot of fun to drive, especially off-roading. That thing must be pretty damned quick with a 351 in it!! And a hell of a handfull with that short wheelbase!!

For your road trip, go back through Jackson Hole/ Grand Teton NP, Yellowstone, Beartooth Highway, Little BigHorn Battlefield, Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore/Black Hills, Badlands, Wall Drug and the Mitchell Corn Palace.

It will be a very memorable drive. (and there are other interesting alternatives/possibilities including three of the best views from bar stools in North America)

Can't make it to SLC and Parade as we have long-booked house guests.

I had a '66 half cab bronco in my teens. Very cool vehicle. Mine had a 5" lift and 33" tall tires. Lots of fun memories in that truck.

I put a small chunk of change into this trip around (, 23 gal. steel fuel tank (got rid of the 13gal poly tank) , rebuit steering box, gaskets, fuel/brak lines, modifed exhaust, and trany seal leak...few other misc things.....abuse from letting it sit too much) and was going to sell it but after putting it through safety and emissions today and having 4 people stop and talk to me about it, Im keeping it. Washed, waxed, and detailed it myself today. Its been sitting since Oct of last year and back on track after a few years of abuse sitting in the garage collecting dust

Sexton Offroad www.sextonoffroad.com in Kamas, UT (just outside Park City) is a great guy and really know's his Bronco's and like a Rennsport or FD Motorsport in the Porsche world.

I bought the Porsche and Bronco from the same guy (8 and 7 years ago) and now he has a Landcruiser FJ62 that is probably off the charts for my budget for another toy today. This FJ62 is BAD ***---its off the charts. He's a friend of mine and doesnt mess around when it comes to vehicles.

The 94 C4 is the next in the stable to get a little attention in the next few months. Have new tires and rims (another set of stock rims---refinished ) sitting in the basement. I like the raw, stock look of my 95 C4 so I bought an renfinised another set of rims for it. About another 1k miles when my rears where out before I put the new ones on.

IT NEVER ENDS WITH TOYS!!

***Pic from behind picking up my Bronco in Kamas, UT--my 6 year old riding shot gun for the first time in his booster seat. No airbags so its legal.

My (now 6 1/2 year old son) was and is a frequent passenger not only in the 95 C4 but the 77 Bronco. That pic is a couple years old on Guardmans Pass--the road leading to from Big Cottonwood Canyon (Solitude and Brighton Ski Resorts) to Deer Valley, down to Park City. Only opened in the summer.
