Default Steve Wong chip in 993.

Hello friends.

We orderd a Steve Wong chip to my 993 -95 last week.

He said it was a new update that he would send us.

I have now the orginally chip installed in the car.

What can I expect from the new chip?

Know itīs not the easyest question to ask, if itīs a feeling you try to tell me.

Hope you can read my poor english...

Regards, The Swede

I purchased a Steve Wong chip to correct the intermittent stalling issue in my '95 that is fitted with a lightweight fly wheel and RS Clutch. The stalling issue is completely gone. As the flywheel spins down the chip automatically increases throttle to prevent stalling.

With the chip my car seems to have more power and torque at lower speeds/rpms. It's great. I think you will be very happy with this upgrade.

Ohh, thats what I hoped for.

I have standard fly wheel and clutch, and have no plan to change it.

Sounds great that itīs more torque at lower rpmīs.

Most noticeable below 3000rpm, car feels lighter and more responsive especially from a stand still, about the same past 4000rpm.

You will soon find out.

Can't upgrade any 993 but a 95, right? Am I correct to think a 97 doesn't have a socketed chip?

Ferik - That's my understanding...only "early" 95's

Interested in hearing how the chip works out as I'm considering myself. Tx

I have tried the search function, and because I did not like the answers, I started a new tread.

Also, the new updated 993 chip was finnish just a few days ago, therefore I was interested if anyone tried it already. (I couldīt find that in forum search ..)

Drove the car with the new SW chip, what I found out so far is that the power is smother from the bottom to the top.

The engine rpm when the car is idling (is it called so?) is extremly firm.

So far I cant say I feel the extra power (12-18hp?) but the smoothness makes the driving lovley.

Does anyone know how the fuel enonomy changes with the SW chip?

Regards The Swede.
