ive been through 3 sets of marker lights to match my Low Beam HID and HID Fogs. I tried two different sets from SuperBright LEDs BA9s-WHP9 in cool white, while they were plenty bright, i found them to be a shade too blue. I tried a similar set in another shade of white, and they were too yellow.

I then googled the 4500K-5000K color temp LEDs and found a link on amazon and figured id try them... they ended up being a great match. Not as bright as the ones from SuperBright, they are closer to stock brightness of a regular incandescent bulb but match the HIDs very well. who knows about the quality, so i ordered a few extra.

this was with the other "superbright" version... dont have any photos of the amazon ones...

thanks for the details and links. Did the Amazon bulbs have a base that matched up, looks like it. So far so good with those LED's?

thanks

The amazon ones have the correct base.
The superbright versions, while slightly off in color really filled the lenses with lots of light. the amazon ones, are discernibly dimmer but the match in color makes up for it, if anything their brightness (or lack of) looks closer to our cars vintage. I'll try and get a photo tonight but these things are usually hard to photo properly...

Mag,

I changed the front marker lamps to a BMW lamp based on a post here at RL in 2004 from kdurg.

They are a bright halogen 10 watt lamp and fit perfectly. The BMW part number is # 63-31-1-375-003 10 W Bulb. They were $17.00 each from Burdick BMW back in 2004.

I'm not really interested in increasing their light intensity, just matching the color to the fogs/low beams.

thanks
Mag-Gert sells the matching HID bulbs for the parking lights. They were $16 or something pretty cheap when I bought my HID HL kit from him.

PS-for those that have done HID fogs-where are you mounting those ballasts?

I did my fogs when the bumper cover was off this winter. I did the whole 32 sets of hands needed, ty-wrap the ballasts to the bumper stand off thingy. Not real smart considering many others have simply tucked the ballast between the top of the bumper and the cover. The slim ballasts apparently wedge in there very tightly.

Others will verify.

Getting it aligned tomorrow. Going to put on new tires soon too. Been reading a lot of threads on the hankooks vs. the sumis. I think I'm going with the sumis. Can I fit 235/40/18s and 295/30/18s on twists without a problem?

Anyone need some winter tires? Probably going to sell the pilot sport A/S with very few miles.
