How do I determine which one is malfunctioning in the car as it may only be one.

How can I tell if a used unit will work before installing. What should I look for?
I had mine done at an indy shop and very fortunate that their lead tech was the factory trained West Coast rep for 993 convertible top issues when he worked for Porsche during 993 production. I think the new cables were $200+ each and the tension straps another $100/pair .. he didn't replace the motor or transmissions .. just took out the transmissions and fed the new cables into them, replaced and adjusted everything. Do you have a couple indy shops you can get some input from where you live?

^^^ Oh .. and total repair, parts/labor was just a tad over $1000 for everything and that was in the San Francisco bay area where the indy's labor rates are really steep and dealers charge $200/hr!
