Default pollen, ugh

So I polished the car and it looked great. For about 10 minutes, then the pollen settled on it. What do you guys use to dust the car off? California Car Duster used to be what everyone kept in the trunk years ago. Is it still a good product or have better things come out?

when I was in southern California, for several months, I tried to dust it off with a cheap duster every day... then for several months, I just let the car turn green yellow pollen color and just wash it off every week. Now that I'm back in northern California, I spent 2 days to get all the swirl marks from the duster and water less car wash off, and wala, beautiful paint now. At least until the pine cone and needles fall on it.... that's why I have a cover on it , which gives it some swirlmark again -__- Its a never ending cycle , until I can get some garage space .

I just polished out those same marks, do not want to do that again soon! Midnight blue attracts pollen like a magnet, I told my wife speed yellow was a better color!

California Duster is still the way to go. I use mine everytime my car goes out.

I'm a believer you just have to wash it weekly.

Those dusters tend to put more scratches in the paint IMO esp if you just polished it all up. Once in a while I say it's ok but on a regular basis it doesn't sound like a great idea.

I have a California duster but I never use it anymore. It adds very fine scratches as it drags the dust across the paint. These days I just rinse the car with deionized water and blow it dry with a leaf blower.

That would depend on usage and where you live, Saxon the car, etc. I also would not use my duster with a gritty car. But when dust or dog hair (I'm constantly battling dog hair in the garage) settle on in a week's time, my duster works well. I probably only wash my car once every three months. There's a camp that thinks too many car washes aren't good either.

Pollen with scratch the hell out of the car. The best way to remove it is with compressed air, or a wash. If you use a detail spray you will put some light scratches in it.

I have great appreciation for owners of darker color cars. I'll leave the pollen on until I can properly wash the car. Next time get a silver car!

That's exactly what I told myself after living with a black one. Did I listen to myself? NO!

I did. My Boxsters were dark green and midnight blue. The 993 is silver.

I wanted yellow, my wife said no way. Would have hidden the pollen so well!

Too bad pollen doesnt blow off at road speed.
