Default Wiper arm solutions?

Howdy all,
after driving through a heavy rain storm at which the wipers were on full blast, one stopped working, and then the other stopped working.

I remove the arms and find that the splines on the arms themselves are totally stripped.

Well, believe it or not, these things are bloody $250+ EACH, and thats the discounted price.

Does anybody know of an aftermarket solution, a way to repair these things, or have a pair of these things they aren't using?

thanks all

I've used Loctite blue on the surface and tight down the arm. Wait at least an hour before using. It lasted decades.

The brand new blades will come with no splines. They are completely smoooth on the inside and the soft aluminum will be cut by the wiper spindle when the wiper arms are torqued down on the spindle. So I suggest to position your stripped wiper arms on the spindle and torque them down and you should be good to go. Just make sure you have that wobbly washer on there to prevent the nut from loosening. Or as mentioned the loctite.
Cheers

My driver's side wiper failed a couple years ago. When I got the price from the dealer I was surprised how much a pair of wiper arms were. He then informed me that the price was for the driver's arm only.

Since we're on this subject of wiper arms -- sorry Quadcammer, very minor thread hijack -- you know the plastic end cap that fits over the base of the arm and covers up the mounting nut, and is hinged on one side? A stone on the highway hit mine and cracked it in half. It's gone. Can you buy just that cap, or do you have to buy a whole arm?
