I'm driving around with the windows down because the 2" LPMM I did last month sounds so freakin cool. With the windows up, I can't tell a difference, which is what I wanted. With them down, it's magic.
The solution to the problem(?) is easily solved...simply install FD Stage lll's. Windows up, down, a/c on, off, radio on/off...no matter.
The loud pedal satisfies all!
The project I'm on now, is in downtown Syracuse, NY... I immediately merge onto interstate 81. LOTS of overpasses, with big throttle jabs to merge with traffic coming off the very slow on ramp.
It's simply great fun seeing folks expressions.

Hey Falcondrivr...I loved the LPMM when I had my car! I know Darin and his muffs are great too but it is hard to beat the LPMM.
I did the same type of thing to my BMW 540/6 (not LPMM but hacked the muff and resonator "scuba tanks" off and replaced with 3" pipe) and I find myself when driving in downtown Seattle with the windows down to hear the exhaust sound bouncing off of the buildings. I crack up when my wife drives the car...I listen to the car rumble down the road. 50 something going on 16....!!

can you tell me more about that mod? im interested
The stage 1,2, &3 refer to fd motorsports custom mufflers. Their website explains the differences. For the LPMM, all you need is a welder and ~18 inches of pipe.
