For what? Track? Autocross? Garage queen? City driving? Long distance?
The answer would be highly subjective based upon many variables.

I ran Bridgestone RE 50, RE70 in past.
I like these tires because they had a very high ware rating. In street use I would get 3 years out of them.
The prices have gotten ridiculous so I went to
OnlineTires.com
Run great, avoids emptying your wallet plus they are all season, go figure?

Tires are like restaurants these days--you can get a pretty mediocre meal at a Michelin star restaurant and empty your bank account, and you can eat fantastically from a taco (sorry, mobile food) truck for not a lot.

In other words, no need to overspend. I've got two sets of the Hankook V12 on the cars for the street.

I'm running Sumi's HTR Z III's on my 993 - and do both track and DD on them. The only time they come off is the winter (when I run Blizzacks on 17 rims)... I do drive them aggressively on the track (instructors group) - and also drive home with the same "sneakers" on....

There is/(was?) a long thread about the Sumi's in this forum a while ago - so you should be able to search for it?

HTH,

John

You probably have the T.U.V. or some equivalent in Portugal that has a list of approved tires and I suspect some of the U.S. approved stuff won't cut it for Europe. Can you run Sumitomo or Yokohama tires?

Goodyear Wrangler Radials.

I've run Bridgestone (RE-01R, S02-A), Michelin (Pilot Sport Rib, Pilot Super Sport), and Sumitomo (HTRZIII) on my 993s. Best? Tires keep getting better IMHO.
