To read all about Total 911's visit to the Porsche Museum’s secret warehouse, pick up a copy of issue 119, available in store and online now. Alternatively, you can download your copy straight to a digital device.

Bart-- This guy & previous photos make it look like Porsche AG's "secret warehouse" might be an easier visit:

Great video.

I had the privilege of visiting Porsche Classic a few years ago after visiting the BMW & Mercedes Classic Centers. All 3 were different. BMW was a storage facility (then) for historic cars, mostly race cars. M-B a mix of one of the most eclectic shops I have ever seen - from the Silver Arrows being prepped to be sent to their next "performance," to 600 Pullmans being restored for their oil monarch owners, to newer fully restored M-B's offered for sale. And, of course the archives, the parts reproduced from original machines, and the facility itself.

After a nice lunch in the Porsche dining room overlooking the museum, and a tour of the museum, we were driven to Porsche Classic where Jochen Barder (also in the video) graciously showed us around after admonishing us to not take photos of cars in which license plates were visible. Hard to do, so only a few pix. In the basement was a familiar shape under a tarp. Someone said, "Please don't look under the tarp." Hmm! What was it? A 906 maybe? Not faraway was the body, and separately the chassis of a 907.

Great visit. Thanks, again Jochen.

After that we continued our drive 200 km northwest to my Grandmother's village which looks much the same as it did a century ago.

Great! I've read that the rarest colour for the 997 Speedster is the red and i remember that i've also seen a red one in a Porsche gathering event. Me personally, i really love the blue one. Colour name and code please?

Thank you!

Porsche officially offered 997 Speedsters only in Carrera White & Pure Blue.
At the N. American debut:

I sprayed a card with 3AS Blue Turquoise to compare to the Speedster's Blue--what do you think?

As if that wasn't enough, our on-the-scene reporter Dan chased one down in his 911 for a side-by-side color comparo:

I just bought one of these car covers. I received it from Porsche.com only two days after ordering without paying extra. I wondered why it was only offered in one color. Now I see that every cover they use is exactly the same color as the one I received. That light gray/creme color seems to be the factory standard.

That's definitely the word for the light gray/cream-colored ones in the 'secret prototype warehouse' -- standardized.

BTW, your red cover & its contents rock
