Theoretically...C4S to TT?
Disclosure: I am not a DIYer. Hell, I rely on the technically-savvy to do even the most minor of things to my car...hence, the ignorant question that is to follow.
How involved a job is it to swap out the NA engine in my C4S for a TT engine? I thought long and hard about a TPC SC and decided against it. Frankly, by the time the TPC SC is done properly, you're looking at $10-15k. I don't trust LA Porsche dismantler for much of anything (prices included), but this post got me thinking of whether others have held onto two engines (a NA and a TT) in lieu of a TPC SC.

Guys can do engine-out and engine-in, in 10 hours. For the the same car/engine.
Most indy shops quote 20 hours when they do engine out work for R&R.
So, I'd figure at least 20 hours at $120 per hour = $2,400 MINIMUM.

Finding a good TT engine will be a challenge, i have seen average ones with highish mileage for $22k to $25k.
You will need an ecu and wiring harnes if you cannot find an engine with one, then there is the labor etc.
I would say you are looking at about $30k all in for the conversion..... Put that and your car together and you will get yourself a very nice TT...

"Theoretical" question answered: not worth it.
Very interesting reading how much a re-gear can transform a 993. I wonder if a regear would accomplish 80% of my goals without having to mess around with superchargers and goofy ideas like this turbo conversion...
