I'd bet a well set up Neon could beat it around most road courses.
Probably not a bad bet. Really, really fun cars..I had a '98 R/T in college (collage?). Too bad they've got such a horrible stigma. I'd actually love to have another one to zip around in, but the 1st gen cars are basically impossible to find in good shape anymore. I believe they were the car to beat in SCCA when they were new.

S197 Mustangs are excellent platforms..night and day over any previous platform. Ditch the marshmallow suspension for a basic spring-strut setup, swap in some 14" Brembos for $1000 or so, and you've got a hell of a car for not much dough. I do miss mine, and if I ever build a track car I will definitely think about another..
Well finally, your true mission is exposed. We “turbo-look” owners are all posers. I do not really know what “puzzling or baffling questions” our group proposes but I guess you know best. If what you really mean is that we are really a bunch of low down, no good poseurs then I, as I suspect all S owners, are big enough to take it. However, I believe that folks who feel the need to bring such things up are often striking out or trying to deflect the pain of their own inadequacies. Maybe a small or malfunctioning Johnson perhaps….

Just come out and ask. I'm not shy. Thick as a beer can ,I'm told!
Please don't feel the need to do that. I'm sure you carry one in your wallet anyway. I think I'm done with this thread. No really getting any value added.
Sorry if my previous comments offended anyone along the way.

Idiot. I know this is closed, but had to set something straight. The person referring to NA and NB - we are talking about Porsche Carreras, not Mazda Miatas. Lay off the sauce.

Oh, my. I wouldn't tell that to my husband. But I suppose your responses are based purely on your lack of education and integrity. How long did you think you could go around insulting everybody before someone called you on it? And a LOT of people have mentioned it, yet you just keep going. Please quit making our list look like a garbage can.
I would like to make a sincere apology to Bonni Parker, JoAnne + Robert Trinkle and all of the other members I may have offended. I am truly sorry! I would like to thank John D for understanding my current situation and allowing me to, hopefully, rectify it.
For the members that felt the need to call my home and threaten my life I hope my apology has been sufficient. I did not realize there is an active 993 Rennlist Mafia and what they claim to be capable of.
Respectfully
