I'm on my third 911.
#1 - 1989 silver anniversary cab, purchased in 1994 at a repo auction. I didn't know much about 911s. I knew the car ran because they drove it up to the auction block. It had 56,000 miles on it. Once I put the correct tires on it and had the Porsche dealer give it a once over it ran great. I put about 30,000 miles on it and traded it in 1996 for my present car. It was burning oil and ready for a top end overhaul.
#2- 1995 C2 coupe. Red/tan. Purchased new 1/95. It was red and attracted speeding tickets like no car I ever owned. It is the last red car I will own. I put 25,000 miles on it and traded it in 1996 for my present car.
#3 1996 C4 cab. Purchased new in 5/96. I traded #1 and #2 for it. I had deceided to get a C4 cab which I could drive all 4 seasons and had the performance of my '95 and was a cab like my '89. I told the salesman to find me a C4 cab with a light interior and he found a Iris Blue/Marble/Marble C4 cab. It had been a 1996 NAIAS Porsche display car. It was sold to Holbert motor cars in Warrington PA. The dealer in Richmond, VA (Haywood Clarke) traded a red/tan C4S for it. I picked it up with 42 miles on the ODO. It was only worked on by one mechanic (Wayne) while I lived in VA. When I moved up north, I began using Holberts (now Thompson) for service and the only mechanic that works on it there is Brian. I have to give props to the 2 mechanics who have serviced the car for the past 16 years as it still runs great and hasn't had any major work done to it, yet.

My first was a 1973 911E targa (mechanical injection).

Owned it between the ages of 21 and 22. In my case, it was a bit too soon for 911 ownership.

It was rough around the edges (as you can see), but I loved it. Should have never sold it.

Vowed to get another one (and hopefully several more) someday - that was in 1994.

Bought my 993 in 2006.

I have been attracted to Porsches my whole life and am fortunate to have one. Now, I just can't see myself ever driving anything but an air cooled 911. #1 Stolen but never forgotten '94 C4 factory widebody.
