Mark, better check the list of tools in a kit. Most tool kits I've seen for sale show a different number of tools in the kits. Obviously some are coming up short on that list.

While having the original pieces is a plus, prices for complete kits (which seem to have different content from year to year, not to mention for different body styles) have gone up. Unless originality is a must, I would consider putting together a higher quality tool kit using Craftsman parts wherre possible.

Since you brought it up,if one were putting together a tool kit that could handle the most common problems that could leave you stranded, what would it include?

I was going to offer you mine but it doesn't have half the stuff that's pictured here.
Weekend Rides

Below is the PET list. It's all shown under the same index number as the tool set. Do you think the 996 part number is original to the 993? I'll bet some concourse judge knows.

993 721 115 01
tool bag with contents comprising:
angular screwdriver
spark plug wrench
angular screw driver
double end spanner 8 x 10
double end spanner 13 x 17

911 721 107 02
screwdriver set
universal pliers
socket wrench

999 571 066 02
intermediate piece for emergency control sunroof

928 521 907 02
crank for emergency control

996 721 151 00
towing lug
rim wrench
operating rod for rim wrench
screwdriver
