Default LOUD Porsche?!!!

OK, I know there's OE-quiet and folks' desire to sound more "sporty"...I get this. Then there's the track db-levels ...I clearly get this. But yesterday on the fwy, I had this loud, raucous noise coming up behind my right ear onto the onramp (I like to drive with windows open when I can). A 996 that sounded like someone just dropped the green flag, but here's the kicker: he wasn't even going fast and it was ungodly-loud, and the rasp was obnoxious to boot! It did not inspire nor evoke the racetrack; it was nasty. I could not help but think how many folks he alienates on every commute.

Please tell me my 993 brethren do not sound like this, even you cat-less modded folks ...please!

Sounds like the Fisters my friend put on his 996. It sounded really bad but I didn't have the heart to tell him. Clearly not a good option for the later models. They sound nothing like the symphony that emanates from the rear of a 993.

I dig the noise but only when hitting the loud pedal! A nice rumble at idle in a 993 is music!

Edward, your 996 driver posted in this thread and was only trying to get back at you for your love of air-cooled P-cars.

Seriously, my car is probably as obnoxious as the car in question since it is devoid of cats and mufflers.

If you were in Utah I would know exactly who it was.

I bought a set of RSR's from Corrdobrit....I like the slight increase. There are times I'd like a bit more, but then again, they are probably just right 85% of the time. Until I find a set of FII's for sale...then I'll have three sets to play with.

Thanks for tolerating my venting, guys. I feel better ...after all, I commuted today in m 993

Hey Mark,
Do you commute with your track appliance? Even my trackmeister has SSIs + sport muffler so it doesn't **** me off
