Default What value would you place on my car if you were selling it (build sheet added)

I listed my car for sale earlier this week and I would like to get some opinions from the community on my pricing/valuation of it.

I know PCCA has a valuation deal but I'm looking for more of a active Rennlist valuation rather than car club-ish valuation.

The car is listed here: https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...silver-c2.html

I priced it at $35,000 which isn't a firm number. As a few of the members here can attest to the car is completely sorted out and has solid ownership and documentation. I wont say much else about it and I will open myself up for raw feedback from everyone.

(and thanks for your participation )

Maybe the shifter is holding it back. If this is the case I will certainly help you out and take it off your hands. I have a nice classic grey OEM replacement to offer in exchange.

Just a gut reaction... 35k sounds like a good price, although with 111k miles, may be a little high.

Great looking car, I normally don't like grey or mismatched interiors, but what you have works and looks very nice.

Indeed. Nice well appointed 993. I think the asking price is "fair" to "good".

Price isn't far off. A "normal" 993 w/ 111k is worth, what, 28k? Softback sport seats, ducktail, turbo nose, pss9, LWF. While those add to the value, they narrow the pool of potential buyers. I would be one, don't get me wrong, but it is a smaller pool. The smaller the pool (i.e., the less demand), the lower the price. So, I would think something closer to 30 is what it will sell for (and you're flexible). But, it will take time to find that buyer...

This asking price is fair, when the right buyer comes there still needs to be room for negotiation.

I would keep it listed at that price, $1-2K less maybe, however at the same time that's not really going to make that huge of a difference.

Patience is key!

Are you getting any interest at your current asking price?

Not sure I get that logic. With 111K I'd WANT to see those mods (the mechanical and performance ones) already done on the car and therefore should broaden the pool of potential buyers, especially those that don't wrench themselves.

If you have time, wait for the right buyer. If you're in a rush its probably $2-3K overpriced for a quick sale.

Yes I am seeing some interested parties but I'm a pretty transparent guy and wanted to see see if my asking price is what it should be.

I think it's also a valuable resource for potential buyers of my car so I thought asking everyone was an interesting MO.

Biggest bullet-point on this cars' build sheet is the documented Rothsport engine rebuild at 65k miles. Price (firm) is fair IMO. Patience.

It's priced a little high. How many other $35K 993's on the market have over 100K miles? I can't recall seeing any. It's a beautiful car though with some nice options. I would definitely replace the ducktail with the stock lid.

I think your price is on the mark, but you are going to have to be patient to get it.
You have what looks to be a very nice car with all the right mods... but most of the folks who are willing to consider a 111K mile car are looking for a bargain car. The ones who can afford to drop $35K for a C2 are usually looking for a lower mile car. So you do end up with a small pool of "right" buyers (as someone stated above).
You are going to have to be prepared to wait for the right buyer, or drop the price if you are in a hurry. ... Or maybe get lucky and that "right buyer" shows up today... no way to tell.

FWIW, the year is listed as "1950" in the ad. Not a huge market for 1950 993s!

I think 993s with mileage in excess of 100K (with rebuilds and up to date maintenence) are priced at low to mid $30s and believe that they sell for less.

But this is all about what one thinks is a fair value and each of us have differing views.

You have a very nice example with engine rebuild and other updates.
